Chiemsee is a freshwater lake in Bavaria, between Rosenheim in Germany, and Salzburg in Austria. It is often called the Bavarian Sea. The rivers Tiroler Achen and Prien flow into the lake; the river Alz, out of it. The Chiemsee is divided into the bigger, north section, in the northeast, called Weitsee, and the Inselsee, in the southwest.   read more…

Gmunden is a town in Upper Austria in the district of Gmunden. It has 13,000 inhabitants. It is much frequented as a health and summer resort, and has a variety of goat, lake, brine, vegetable and pine-cone baths, a hydropathic establishment, inhalation chambers, whey cure, etc. It is also an important centre of the salt industry in Salzkammergut.   read more…
