Biratnagar is the second largest metropolitan city and the capital of the Province No. 1 of Nepal. It also holds the record for the second most densely populated (after Kathmandu) and the fourth most populous city of Nepal, with a population of 240,000. The city has a total area of 29.9mi² (77.5km²) and is located in the Morang District (in the previous Koshi Zone) of the eastern-most Terai region of Nepal.
