Das Grand Hotel ist ein historisches Hotel auf
Mackinac Island in
Michigan. Es wurde im späten 19. Jahrhundert gebaut und hat nach eigenen Angaben die größte
Veranda der Welt. Zu den berühmten Gästen des Grand Hotels zählen die
US-Präsidenten Harry Truman,
John F. Kennedy,
Gerald Ford,
George H.W. Bush und
Bill Clinton, sowie unter anderem
Thomas Edison und
Mark Twain. Eigentümer des Hotels ist R .D. (Dan) Musser III. 1957 wurde das Grand Hotel zum State Historical Building erklärt. 1972 wurde das Hotel in den
National Register of Historic Places aufgenommen und 1989 zum
National Historic Landmark erklärt. Grand Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Das Grand Hotel ist Mitglied der
Historic Hotels of America, dem offiziellen Programm des
National Trust for Historic Preservation.
