The Carpathian Mountains or Carpathians are a range of mountains forming an arc roughly 1,500 km (932 mi) long across Central and Eastern Europe, making them the second-longest mountain range in Europe. They provide the habitat for the largest European populations of brown bears, wolves, chamois and lynxes, with the highest concentration in Romania, as well as over one third of all European plant species. The Carpathians and their piedmont also concentrate many thermal and mineral waters, with Romania home to over one-third of the European total.   read more…

It is the largest city in Romania, located in the southeast of the country and is located on the banks of the Dâmbovița River. Bucharest has 2.5 million citizen and is the 6th largest city in the European Union. Economically, Bucharest is the most prosperous city in Romania and one of the main industrial centres and transportation hubs of Eastern Europe. Arad is the capital city of Arad County, situated in the Crişana region of western Romania. An important industrial center and transportation hub on the Mureş River, Arad is also the seat of a Romanian Orthodox archbishop and features two universities, a Romanian Orthodox theological seminary, a training school for teachers and a music conservatory.
