Pouembout is a commune in the North Province. It is located 258 km north-west of Noumea on the main island Grande Terre and also includes some small islands off the coast of the main island. The highest elevation is the Massif de Kopeto 1134 m.   read more…

Koné is a commune in the North Province. Koné is the provincial seat of the North Province. Besides Koné as the largest district are Koniambo and Tiaoué as the smallest settlements of the municipality. Ten different tribes live in the municipality of Koné. Koné is due to the humid west coast of the largest island of New Caledonia Grande Terre and also includes Île Pingiane an off the coast island. Inland, the town is dominated by a mountain range, which rises to 1041 m altitude. The highest point of the municipality is located at 1014 m near the peak of Atheu. Koné has a small airport which is located approximately 2 km away from city center.   read more…
