Épernay is a commune in the Marne department. Épernay is located some 130 km north-east of Paris on the main line of the Eastern railway to Strasbourg. Châlons-en-Champagne is the capital of both the department of Marne and the region of Champagne-Ardenne, despite being only a quarter the size of the city of Reims.
