Boulazac Isle Manoire has been a French commune nouvelle in the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region with a population of 10,600 since January 1, 2016. The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Périgeux and the canton of Isle-Manoire. It emerged from the fusion of Atur, Boulazac and Saint-Laurent-sur-Manoire. Saint-Astier is a small town and a French municipality with 5,500 inhabitants in the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The municipality consists of the main town as well as a few hamlets (hameaux) and individual farmsteads (fermes). Dordogne is a department in Southwestern France, with its prefecture in Périgueux. The department is located in the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine between the Loire Valley and the Pyrenees and is named after the river Dordogne that runs through it. It corresponds roughly with the historically and culinary significant ancient county of Périgord. It had a population of 416,909 in 2013. The Dordogne department is rich in archaeological sites (Dolmens of Cantegrel, Dolmens Peyre Levade) and caves as well as rock shelter with petroglyphs, rock paintings and sculptures from the Stone Age, troglodytic buildings and villages, as well as other natural caves that are open to the public. Attractions are also some castles, numerous chateaus (list of castles and chateaus in the Dordogne) and various abbeys.   read more…

Bergerac is a commune and a sub-prefecture of the Dordogne department in southwestern France. Bergerac offers some of the finest wines in the Bordeaux region. It has 12 recognized wine AOCs (Appellations d’origine contrôlée) The drainage is excellent as a result of its proximity to the Dordogne River. The town has an important tourist industry and features a tobacco museum, in which, unlike in all the other museums, no smoking is allowed. Bergerac is served by the Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport. Bergerac has an SNCF station with regular services to Bordeaux and Sarlat-la-Canéda.   read more…

Sarlat-la-Canéda or simply Sarlat, is a commune in the Dordogne department in Aquitaine in southwestern France. Sarlat is one of the most attractive and alluring towns in southwestern France. Numerous visitors – especially from northern Europe (the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, etc.) – come on holiday to Sarlat and the lovely region surrounding it and some have settled here permanently.
