The former smugglers’ paradise of Samnaun located in the Swiss, Austrian and Italian triangle has developed into a holiday resort for hiking enthusiasts and mountain bike riders. In winter the cross-border winter sports region of Samnaun and Ischgl (Austria) caters for the most discerning of visitors. All year round shrewd shoppers reap the benefits of the only tax-free resort in Switzerland.

In addition to low-price shopping, the village of Samnaun and the Samnaun Valley offer unspoilt nature and a fantastic region for winter sports. Thanks to its situation, the area is ideal for excursions to the Lower Engadine and across the nearby borders.

The shared ski region of Samnaun and the Austrian resort of Ischgl – the Silvretta Arena between Arlberg and the Silvretta Group – is the biggest joint ski region in the Eastern Alps.
