Saturn is a seaside resort on the Romanian Black Sea coast. It is located one kilometer north of Mangalia and about 40 kilometers south of Constanța, near the Bulgarian border.

The seaside resort was founded in 1972 and named after the Roman god Saturn. During the socialist era in Romania, Saturn was primarily a tourist resort of national interest. Later, holidaymakers from neighboring Eastern Bloc countries also came to visit, which led to a rapid expansion of the hotel industry. Today, the tourist area is characterized by several sandy beaches, camping sites and multi-story hotels. Tourists have been coming to the Black Sea coast from all over the world since the beginning of the 21st century, but the majority of holidaymakers are still Romanians and other Eastern Europeans.

The two main beaches in the municipality are Plaja Adras, near the town of Venus (in the north of the town) and Plaja Diana in the south.

Saturn’s climate is subtropical and maritime. In addition, the sea temperatures are significantly higher than in other Black Sea resorts, as the warm sea currents continue to heat up the region.
