The Bernina Range is a
mountain range in the
Alps of eastern
Switzerland and northern
Italy . It is considered to be part of the
Rhaetian Alps within the
Central Eastern Alps . It is one of the highest ranges of the Alps, covered with many glaciers.
Piz Bernina (4,049 m (13,284 ft)), its highest peak, is the most easterly
four-thousand-metre peak in the Alps. The peak in the range which sees the most ascents is
Piz Palü .

Grisons . The official language in Scuol is
Romansh . On 1 January 2015 the former municipalities of

Sent merged into Scuol.

Silvaplana (
Romansh : Silvaplauna) is a
municipality in the
Maloja Region in the
Swiss canton of
Graubünden and the name of a lake in the municipality. The first sign of a settlement in the borders of the municipality are some
Roman -era broken pillars on the
Julier Pass . The village church was first mentioned in 1356. A new,
late gothic church was built in 1491. In 1556 the village converted to the
Protestant Reformation .

Zernez is a village and a
municipality in the
Engiadina Bassa/Val Müstair Region in the
Swiss canton of
Graubünden . On 1 January 2015 the former municipalities of
Lavin and
Susch merged into the municipality of Zernez. Zernez is a major node in the regional road network, with roads leading into the Upper Engadine and towards
Italy , the Lower Engadine and towards
Austria , over the
Fuorn Pass into the
Val Mustair and over the
Flüela Pass . Zernez is the center for visitors of the
Swiss National Park (
Romansh : Parc Naziunal).

The Engadin or Engadine (
Romansh : Engiadina;
German : Engadin;
Italian : Engadina;
French : Engadine) is a long high
Alpine valley region in the eastern
Swiss Alps in the canton of
Graubünden in southeasternmost
Switzerland with about 25,000 inhabitants. It follows the route of the
Inn (Romansh: En) from its headwaters at
Maloja Pass in the southwest running roughly northeast until the Inn flows into
Austria , little less than one hundred kilometers downstream. The En/Inn subsequently flows at
Passau into the
Danube , making it the only Swiss river to drain into the
Black Sea . The Engadine is protected by high mountain ranges on all sides and is famous for its sunny climate, beautiful landscapes and outdoor activities.

Lauterbrunnen is a
village and
municipality in the
Interlaken-Oberhasli administrative district in the
canton of
Bern in
Switzerland . The municipality comprises the other villages of
Wengen ,
Mürren ,
Gimmelwald ,
Stechelberg , and
Isenfluh , as well as several other hamlets. The population of the village of Lauterbrunnen is less than that of Wengen, but larger than that of the others.

Fondues are a group of distinct dishes that can be either savoury or sweet.
Cheese fondue , originating in Switzerland, is the original fondue, hence the French term
fondue for “melted”. Since the 1950s, however, the term
fondue has been generalized to a number of other dishes in which a food is dipped or cooked into a communal pot kept hot. Fondue eaten as a communal meal is referred to as a
fondue party .
