The Moby Dick is a passenger ship operated by Bonner Fähr- und Fahrgastschifffahrt GmbH & Co. KG (the company also operated the Rhine ferry Rheinnixe until 2022 and the MS RheinTreue since the beginning of 2025). The striking ship, shaped like a whale, usually travels on the Rhine between Bonn and Linz am Rhein. It was built in 1976 at the Oberkassel shipyard. The Alexander Koenig Zoological Research Museum (German: Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig, abbreviated ZFMK) is a natural history museum and zoological research institution in Bonn, Germany. The museum is named after Alexander Koenig, who donated his collection of specimens to the institution. The museum was opened in 1934 and is affiliated with the Leibniz Association. On 1 September 1948 the museum saw the opening of the Parlamentarischer Rat, the organ to create the German constitution. The Schokoladenmuseum Köln was opened by Hans Imhoff on 31 October 1993. It is situated in the Cologne quarter of Altstadt-Süd on the Rheinauhafen peninsula. The exhibits show the entire history of chocolate, from its beginnings with the Olmecs, Maya, and Aztecs to contemporary products and production methods. Roonstrasse Synagogue, located in Cologne, Germany, is the only surviving of the five synagogues of the city before the Nazi era. On August 19, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI visited Roonstrasse Synagogue. This visit was the second ever visit to any synagogue by any one of the Popes. There, he condemned Nazism and antisemitism. read more…
