Cala Millor (“Best Bay”) is a town located on the Spanish Balearic Island of Mallorca. It consists of a small bay in the municipalities of Son Servera and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. Overlooked by Mt. Na Penyal to the west. With over 5,000 inhabitants and multiple hotels, it is the largest tourist destination on the east coast of the island. The town has a well-maintained beach, and is within an hour’s drive of the capital Palma de Mallorca, and half an hour’s drive from Cuevas del Drach. The Far de Formentor or Faro de Formentor is a lighthouse on the Cap de Formentor of the same name, the northeasternmost point of the peninsula and the northernmost point of the island of Mallorca. The lighthouse is a sight and tourist attraction of the island. It is also one of 13 lighthouses in Mallorca that are in operation. Port de Pollença is a small town in northern Majorca, situated on the Bay of Pollença. It is located about 6 km east of the inland town of Pollença and two kilometres southeast of Cala Sant Vicenç. The Cap de Formentor is connected to Port de Pollença via a 13.5 km road. Port de Pollença is the most northerly town in Majorca. It is split into several main areas: Pine walk, Boquer, Central, Siller, Pinaret, Llenaire and Gotmar. Port de Sóller is a village and the port of the town of Sóller, in Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands. Along with the village of Fornalutx and the hamlet of Biniaraix they combine to form Sóller. The combined population is around 12,000. A tramway links the inland town of Sóller to Port de Sóller, running along the beach-side road. Some of its original, 1913-built cars are still in service on the line. A bus service links the resort to Palma, the capital of the island. read more…
