Maidan Nezalezhnosti (literally “Independence Square”) is the central square of Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. One of the city’s main squares, it is located on Khreshchatyk Street in the Shevchenko Raion. The square has been known under many different names, but often it is called by people simply Maidan (“square”). The square contains the iconic Independence Monument. Hotel Ukraine, is a four-star hotel located in central Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The hotel was built in 1961 as the Hotel “Moscow” in a location which originally was occupied by Kiev’s first skyscraper, the Ginzburg House. The construction of the hotel finished the architectural ensemble of Kiev’s main street – the Khreshchatyk – which formed the post-war reconstruction of central Kiev.
