Hội An, formerly known in the Western world as Faifoo or Faifo, is a city of approximately 120,000 people in Vietnam’s
Quảng Nam Province, registered as a
UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Along with the Cù Lao Cham archipelago, it is part of the
Cù Lao Cham-Hội An Biosphere Reserve, designated in 2009. In 2023, Hội An was registered in the
UNESCO Creative Cities Network list.

Da Nang is one of the
five largest cities in
Vietnam including
Ho Chi Minh City,
Hanoi,
Haiphong, and
Cần Thơ in terms of urbanization and economy. Located on the coast of the
South China Sea at the mouth of the
Han River, it is one of Vietnam’s most important port cities. As one of the country’s five
direct-controlled municipalities, it is under the direct administration of the
central government.
