The Pears Jewish Campus is a Jewish educational and community center in the Wilmersdorf district of Berlin‘s Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough. It is located directly next to the Chabad Berlin Jewish Education Center, run by the Chabad Lubavitch Jewish community, which also commissioned the building. It opened in 2023.

Ideas for a campus had been circulating since 2013; the foundation stone was laid in 2018, the topping-out ceremony in 2020, and the opening took place on June 25, 2023. Construction costs amounted to approximately 40 million euros. The campus is named after its main sponsor, the British Pears Foundation (William Pears Group). Public funding also contributed a significant portion of the costs.

The campus is the largest Jewish building project in Germany to date and the first Jewish campus in Berlin since the Holocaust. The design for the seven-story building, with its curved floor plan reminiscent of a newborn when viewed from above, and its bluish clinker brick facade, comes from the architectural firm Tchoban Voss. The light installation Tree of Life hangs on the side walls of the two-story entrance hall. A concrete security wall protects the entrance area; the colorful graffiti depicting scenes of Jewish life on the wall was created by the Berlin artist Tobo. A landscaped area for play, sports, and leisure activities surrounds the building. The entire site is separated from neighboring properties by a bulletproof glass wall.

The campus’s concept is based on three pillars: education, culture, and sports. It includes, among other things, a daycare center for 200 children, a school (primary and secondary school) for 350 pupils, a sports hall that can also be used as an event hall, a cinema, a library, a music hall, an art studio, a co-working space and a kosher café, all on approximately 8000 m².
