UEFA Women’s Euro 2025: The venues

The 2025 UEFA Women’s Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 or simply Euro 2025, is the 14th edition of the UEFA Women’s Championship, the quadrennial international football championship organised by UEFA for the women’s national teams of Europe. The tournament is being played in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July 2025. It is the third edition since it was expanded to 16 teams. The tournament has returned to its usual four-year cycle after the previous tournament was delayed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. England are the defending champions, having won the 2022 tournament.

St. Jakob-Park in Basel
St. Jakob-Park is a sports stadium in Basel. It is the largest football venue in Switzerland and home to FC Basel. “Joggeli”, as the venue is nicknamed by the locals, was originally built with a capacity of 33,433 seats. The capacity was increased to 42,500 for Euro 2008, which was hosted by Austria and Switzerland. After the tournament, a number of seats were removed, thus creating more space between them. The capacity was therefore reduced to 38,512 for Swiss Super League matches or 37,500 seats for international matches The maximum capacity for concerts is 40,000. The stadium is named after the village of St. Jakob an der Birs, which stood on the site. The name “Joggeli” is the diminutive of “Jakob” in the local dialect, making it the equivalent of “Jake”.

Wankdorf Stadium in Bern
Wankdorf Stadium (German: Stadion Wankdorf) is a football stadium in Bern, Switzerland. The second largest all-seater football stadium in Switzerland, it is the home ground of BSC Young Boys. It was also one of the venues for UEFA Euro 2008 and UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.

Stade de Genève in Lancy/Geneva
Stade de Genève (Stadium of Geneva), also called Stade de la Praille, is a stadium in Lancy, Canton of Geneva. It has a capacity of 30,084.

Letzigrund in Zurich
Letzigrund is a stadium in Zurich, the home of the football clubs FC Zürich and Grasshopper Club Zürich, as well as the athletics club LC Zürich. The original stadium was constructed by members of FC Zürich in 1925. Grasshopper Club has been using it as their home stadium since 2007, shortly after construction of the new stadium was completed. The annual track and field meet Weltklasse Zürich, part of the Diamond League, has taken place at the Letzigrund since 1928, as have frequent open-air concerts. On the Letzigrund track on 21 June 1960, Armin Hary was the first human to run the 100 metres in 10.0 seconds.

Kybunpark in St. Gallen
The Kybunpark, formerly known as AFG Arena, is a multi-use stadium in St. Gallen, completed in 2008. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of FC St. Gallen of the Swiss Super League. It replaces the Espenmoos stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people. Between 2008 and 2016 the stadium was named after the sponsor Arbonia-Forster-Gruppe (AFG). In July 2016 the name was changed to Kybunpark.

Swissporarena in Lucerne
Swissporarena is a multi-use stadium in Lucerne, completed in 2011. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of FC Luzern of the Swiss Super League. The stadium has a capacity of 16,800 spectators, including an away fans’ section fitted with 390 rail seats for safe standing. It replaced the demolished Stadion Allmend.

Stockhorn Arena in Thun
Stockhorn Arena (formerly known as Arena Thun) is a football stadium in the city of Thun. It has a capacity of 10,000 spectators and opened in 2011. It is the home of FC Thun men and women’s team of the Swiss Super League.

Stade de Tourbillon in Sion
The Stade de Tourbillon is a multi-purpose stadium in Sion. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Sion. The stadium holds 16,000 people and was built in 1968 and renovated in 1989. At the time of the renovation, its capacity was 19,600. The stadium’s LED scoreboard is powered by ColosseoEAS‘s miniDirector coupled with a miniTimer.
