At a height of 1,000 metres the scenery between Watzmann, Untersberg and Kehlstein, surrounded by Germany’s one and only Alpine National Park, is simply impressive. Salt mine

Royal Palace Berchtesgaden
Palace Berchtesgaden, after 1810 the summer residence of the Wittelsbach family, was once the center of a small spiritual state of the Augustinian Canons. In the following period, they gained the imperial immediacy and 1559 the status of a prince provost. Until 1803 the monastery was the residence of the rulers.
