In 2008 Johan Huibers decided to realize his dream, which he had in 1992, and built Noah’s Ark real size. This Ark is 10 times bigger than the smaller replica, which he built earlier. On board of the Ark will be several biblical theme attractions, exhibitions and activities for all ages. In the restaurant visitors find delicious sandwiches and snacks. An experience for the whole family and a fun day out on board of a ship of 8000 sqm. There will be room for conferences with up to 1500 participants.
The building process is already 3.5 years in full swing and is close of being finished. For the last three years the Dutch city of Dordrecht (65 km South of Amsterdam) has been watching in amazement as businessman Johan Huibers’ dream of building a 150 metre-long, 25 metre-wide, 4 stories high and 3000 tons heavy Noah’s ark, stocked with thousands of plastic animals, has slowly grown into reality. The ark is nearly half as big as the cruise ship Queen Elizabeth 2 , completely built out of 1200 Swedish pine trees.
